SSA CEO to depart

Scottish Sports Association chief executive Kim Atkinson is set to leave the organisation this summer, after 16 years at the helm.

Kim has enjoyed a hugely impactful time at the SSA, championing Scottish sports on a wide range of important issues. As someone who has a particular passion for ensuring opportunities for women and girls, Kim is leaving to take on the role of chief executive of Girlguiding Scotland in August.

SSA chair Sue Beatt commented: “Kim will be greatly missed, and we wish her all the very best in her new role. She has been a fantastic and dedicated champion for Scottish sports throughout her time at the SSA, and will no doubt continue to support Scottish sports in many ways in the future.

“I’m sure all of our Members and partners would like to also express their thanks for her energy and unwavering commitment to Scottish sport throughout her time with the SSA.”

Upon Kim’s departure, SSA Policy and Communications Manager Gregor Muir will serve as Acting CEO to ensure continuity in advance of future recruitment.
