Corporate Governance

The Scottish Sports Association is a company limited by guarantee, registered with Companies House and governed by our board of directors. We are accountable to our Members and act in their interests, working with a range of partners and stakeholders to achieve our strategic objectives.

Among our objectives as set out in our Articles of Association are to foster, encourage, promote and develop the interests of sport in Scotland; to consult with, represent and inform the governing bodies of sport in Scotland effectively; to act in consultation with and as an independent consultative body to sportscotland; and to act in consultation with and as an independent consultative body to the Scottish Parliament.

Full Members have voting rights at AGMs, including voting on relevant motions such as membership fees and approval of annual accounts, and are required to propose and second resolutions or for the appointment of directors.
