John Park - Chairperson

John’s current role is as Director and Assistant General Secretary (Policy, Strategy and External Relations) for Community Trade Union, also managing the Union’s research, communications and policy unit.


Ken Hughes - Vice-Chairperson

Ken is Assistant Chief Executive of the Scottish Parliament and has considerable experience in parliamentary and governmental affairs.


Mark Kernaghan - Financial Director

Mark is Financial Director at the SSA. He is a qualified actuary and is currently a Financial Controller at Prudential having previously worked in a range of senior roles at Lloyds Banking Group, Scottish Widows and Hymans Robertson.


Kim Atkinson

Kim is the Chief Executive Officer of the Scottish Sports Association. She took up post in March 2010 following a wide ranging involvement in sport, especially within governing bodies of sport.


Hayley Barnett

Hayley is a Policy Manager with COSLA (the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities) currently within the Education, Children and Young People Team.


Andy Murray

Andy is currently Coaching and Development Manager for the Scottish Canoe Association, leading on all aspects of coach education and development.


Stuart Younie

Stuart is the Service Manager for Sport and Active Recreation with Perth and Kinross Council and has over 15 years’ experience working in the sector with particular experience of strategic planning within a local authority/community planning setting.


Flora Jackson

Flora has worked in the field of physical activity for health most of her professional life. With a background in Sport and Exercise Science and Physical Education, Flora has worked in various Local Authority and NHS settings. 


James Stuart

As Managing Director for  Entrepreneurial Scotland, James is responsible for turning the strategy into reality by working closely with the Board, the CEO and the team who ultimately bring it all to life. He joined Entrepreneurial Scotland in July 2016 and has worked with the team on a brand new membership proposition.


Sharon Drysdale

Sharon is currently Head of Policy for Skills and Outcome Agreement Manager for the Scottish Funding Council, having previously been Associate Principal, Faculty of Science, Sport and Engineering, at Stevenson College in Edinburgh.
