Lobbying Transparency (Scotland) Bill

Following consultation on a similar proposal under a Member’s Bill in June 2013, the Scottish Parliament’s Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee completed an ‘Inquiry into Lobbying in Scotland’ in February 2015. Following this, the Scottish Government has released this consultation to outline their proposals for forthcoming legislation. The consultation closes on 24 July 2014.
Background
The Scottish Government proposes to introduce a register of lobbyists (ie those whose work involves lobbying) who directly engage with Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) and Scottish Ministers.
