Scottish Wrestling - Education and Talent Development Lead

Scottish Wrestling (SW) is the National Governing body for Olympic styles of wrestling in Scotland. We are looking to ensure wrestling’s sustainable development and growth in Scotland through the delivery of our targets for the next strategic cycle 2019 - 2023. We are looking to engage self-employed contractors on a 'contract for services' basis.

Terms

Contract for Services

Glasgow is the main base for wrestling but there is a flexibility for home working. Occasional national travel may be required.
The time commitment for this self-employed contract is approx. ​18 hours per week​, with the remuneration of ​£12, 850 per annum. It is a one year contract with potential extension.

General Responsibilities

  • Support the vision, values and goals of Scottish Wrestling
  • Deliver assigned strategic goals, plan, report on and implement improvements
  • Form and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Master our existing infrastructure, but question everything and offer suggestions on how it may be improved further
  • Focus on quality, performance, and efficiency

Education and Talent Development Lead - Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver and improve Wrestling Moves Programme
  • Develop, deliver and improve Educational Programmes
  • Develop, deliver and improve Pathway Programmes
  • Develop, deliver and improve Talent Development Programmes
  • Deliver educational support to Clubs & Performance Athletes
  • Deliver workforce development for Coaches, Officials and Volunteers
  • Deliver Wrestling Moves Camps, Programmes and Courses

Person Specification - Education and Talent Development Lead

  • Degree Educated, preferably in sport education or sport
  • 5+ years of industry experience in a Sport Education and/or Coaching role in wrestling desirable. You can demonstrate significant impact that your work has had on the sport and/or the team
  • Knowledge of wrestling and the wrestling landscape in Scotland and internationally desirable
  • Willingness to become an expert in Wrestling Moves Programme and develop them further
  • Experience in sport education, preferably wrestling
  • Team/ Performance Programme/ Talent Development management experience desirable
  • Eligible to work in the UK
