Scottish Curling - Marketing and Communications Intern

Scottish Curling is looking for a Marketing and Communications Intern to assist with the 2019 World Wheelchair Curling Championships in Stirling.

This is an amazing opportunity to gain invaluable work experience, playing an integral part in organising a major international sporting event. We are a small team, and you’ll be taking on important responsibilities that will help develop your skill set considerably.

Job Title: Marketing and Communications Intern
Salary: £7.38 per hour
Location: Stirling, FK7 7XE
Reports to: Marketing and Communications Officer
Employment: Part-time (15 Hours), Fixed Term (6 Months)

Role Description:

  • Implement the marketing plans for the World Wheelchair Curling Championships 2019
  • Attend regular meetings, updating the organising committee of progress.
  • Collate, design and oversee publication of promotional material
  • (Using Adobe Creative Cloud and liaising with publishers)
  • Manage & update sponsorship matrix in partnership with Local Organising Committee.
  • Update event website (using WordPress)
  • Provide support to the marketing team across all activities and channels.
  • Work with the marketing team to produce high quality digital communications including:
  • social media, e-newsletters, video production and presentations.
  • Be the key lead in the campaign launch.
  • Support ticketing structure and delivery.
  • Produce creative copy for website, magazines & press releases.
  • Assist with all aspects of event branding
  • Monitor channels, conduct measurement, analyse and create recommendations
  • Provide additional marketing support when required.

Person Specifications:

  • You’ll be either a Marketing/Communications student in their final 2 years of study, a recent graduate or have equivalent work experience.
  • You’ll be creative and innovative; confident across all social media platforms, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • You will need to be a well organised, efficient and effective forward planner, able to take responsibility and work well in a team.
  • You’ll be comfortable working to a brief, but you must also be able to take the initiative, and work on your own at times.
  • You’ll be confident dealing with a huge variety of key stakeholders and reporting back to other team members.
